2024 ACE Virginia Forum: Keys to the Virginia Building Code

Join us on May 8th in Richmond to hear from local government building officials about concerns/issues with implementing the building code. Bring your questions! This event will help the AEC industry build relationships with building officials and offer networking with peers and colleagues.

 Session Description: 

This session will provide a two-way moderated conversation between code officials and designers. The topics will be pulled from the participants around code compliance in the process of design, permitting and construction.

Learning Objectives: 

The forum is intended to provide a two-way conversation between designers and code officials.

The objective is to:

  • Identify where Designers can facilitate the permitting process.
  • Identify common code design issues.
  • Identify upcoming issues from the code changes adopted in 2024.
  • Identify design and construction issues at the forefront of the design community.'
